QUESTION: Wendy Which Online Casting Sites are Reputable?

I am in Los Angeles and here actors use LA Casting, Actors Access, Backstage.com and Casting Frontier for Commercials. Every actor in LA needs a profile, acting clips, headshots and resume on each of these casting sites. Then they need to check each of them EVERY SINGLE and submit to any projects that fit their description.

Outside of LA in the rest of the country I tell every actor to get Casting Networks, Actors Access and Backstage. There are also some great regional online casting sites that have castings.

FOR REGIONAL REPUTABLE Online Casting Sites I want to share with you this great list below that was created by Burt Culver, a working actor in Los Angeles. He did some extensive research and compiled a list of reputable online casting websites for across the country and abroad.  THANK YOU BURT for this amazing resource for actors.

QUESTION: Wendy What Pictures Should I Add?

When creating your online profiles be sure to upload at least two professionally shot pictures

1) High energy, happy, friendly picture

2)  Serious, more thoughtful, intense, edgy photo.

3) Other shots to add could be:

Professional shot, sporty shot,  nerdy shot, trendy shot, hipster shot.

QUESTION: Wendy Should I Add Video?

Yes, Yes, Yes! You need video.

You can upload  your professional demo reel, or a short acting clip from a project you have done.

If you thosee you can upload a short professionally recorded clip of a monologue like this:

Or get together with some of your acting buddies and shoot a webisode. Then use footage from that.

Always remember, all of this is a work in progress. Take is step by step, day by day. And have fun with all! Over time your resume will grow, your clips will grow, your experience will grow.

See you on the Red Carpet!
